Jesus delivers us from death.
He died for us and as us:
"For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:" (1 Peter 3: 18)
and
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5: 8)
He knows about our tears, and our sorrows. He wants us to be free from this sadness:
"Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?" (Psalm 56: 8)
and
"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." (Revelation 21:4)
He also will preserve us from falling, if we trust Him:
"The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
"24Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the
LORD upholdeth him with his hand." (Pslalm 37: 23-24)
The promises which God the Father gave to His Son -- they now apply to us, too!

LORD upholdeth him with his hand." (Psalm 91: 12)
Jesus takes us from death to life, wipes away our tears, and keeps us from falling!
