He Listens to Us, Even Before We Call

"2Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live." (Psalm 116: 2)

The theme of Year 2016: Take God for all He is worth, Possess Your Possessions.

God is in the giving business.

He is the first, foremost, and forever donor in our lives.

In fact, He is our life:

"When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory." (Colossians 3: 4)

We have nothing of ourselves.

So, let us not think that we are alone in this world.

We can call on Him, and we can trust that He is hearing us, that He heeds our hurts and concerns.

The Israelites in bondage to Pharoah did not even mention the Name of the LORD.

They simply groaned, and that was enough for God to remember His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob:

"And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage. 24And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. 25And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them." (Exodus 2: 23-25)

He was listening. All He needed to hear was the groanings of the Israelites that they would stop relying on their own strength, their own efforts.

He is already listening.
