The Spirit of God Brings Us to Life in Christ

"But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you." (Romans 8: 11)

Many people in the Body of Christ are trying to "Live the Christian life."

The truth is that Life is a person: Jesus!

"In him was life; and the life was the light of men." (John 1: 4)

and then

"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." (John 10: 10)

Of course, we all know this one (but do we rest in it?):

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14: 6)

John writes in his first epistle:

"In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him." (1 John 4: 9)

Meditate on the verse again: "That we might live through Him."

How do we live through Jesus, though?

By the power of His Spirit, which takes us from dead in our trespasses to alive and seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2: 1, 4-6)

The Holy Spirit witnesses of Jesus in us:

"But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:" (John 15: 26)

He also convicts us of righteousness:

"8And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9Of sin, because they believe not on me; 10Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; 11Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged." (John 16: 8-11)

When we reckon ourselves dead to sin (Romans 6: 11), then we can experience the life of Christ through His Spirit living in us.
