Not Trying to Be Blessed, But Blessed Already

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: 4According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 5Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, 6To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved." (Ephesians 1: 3-6)

Let us take a longer look at what Jesus has done for us, as related in the passage above.

"He has blessed us with all spiritual blessings."

We are not trying to be blessed. We have been blessed. We are blessed now!

"He has chosen us in Him."

We have already been selected by Him, for those who believe on Him. As children of God, we should stop wandering around and wondering if we are OK with our Daddy God.

"That we should be holy and blameless."

Because of all that Jesus has done for us at the Cross, there is no reason for us to wonder if God sees us as holy and without blame or shame. Jesus' death on the Cross has taken away all blame and shame, and has infused us with His holiness:

"But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:" (1 Corinthians 1: 30)

He develops our holiness from the inside out, because He now lives in us, our hope of glory (Colossians 1: 27)

"Having predestined us into adoption"

We are not trying to be sons of God, for God our Father has adopted us already:

"For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father." (Romans 8: 15)

and

"Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not." (1 John 3: 1)

Beloved, stop trying to be blessed by God, you are already blessed because you are in Christ Jesus!
