Run to Daddy God In Time of Need

"And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself." (Gensis 3:10)

Before man sinned, he and his help-meet were naked and they were not ashamed (Genesis 2:25).

When man sinned, they knew right from wrong, and they saw themselves as wrong. When they heard God their Creator walking in the garden, and man fled.

Today, we do not run from our Creator--we run to our Redeemer, especially when we sin, when we fail:

"Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." (Hebrews 4:16)

Why can we do this?

Because of Jesus!

"14Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. 15For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin." (Hebrews 4:14-15)

Notice that Jesus is our GREAT High Priest, not just any high priest. He is in heaven, He is the Son of God, the prized special darling of our Heavenly Father.

He knows about our infirmities. He knows that we have sin in our flesh, and He knows that we will fall from time to time.

Yet we do not have to run away in shame.

All our shame is gone, because of Jesus!

"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." (2 Corinthians 5:21)

When you are established in His rightoeusness, no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54: 14, 17)

With that righteousness, we no longer feel the need to run from God when we struggle with sins, when we fail to understand Him, when we are angry with Him.

Our Daddy God is still ready for us. We can come to Him, our Redeemer, our Father:

"15For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together." (Romans 8:15-17)

Notice the mention of "bondage again to fear." Adam and Eve were in bondage to fear. They fled from God their Creator.

Todya, because of Jesus, we are joint-heirs with Christ Jesus, we are sons of God (1 John 3:1). We don't have to run from Daddy God, our Loving Father who is there for us when we sin, when we fail, when we struggle, when we stumble.

Jesus is our High Priest Forever:

"1My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world." (1 John 2:1-2)

Jesus has us covered. He is our Mercy Seat (the full meaning of "propitiation"). We can come to God the Father anytime, especially when we have sinned, when we have failed, when we don't know what to do or way to go!
