Today, we do not have to seek out Jesus in a Temple.
For we today, each one of us who believe in Jesus, have been made a temple, and His Holy Spirit lives in us!
God prophesied His heart's desire through Isaiah:
"Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?
2For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those
things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that
is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word." (Isaiah 66: 1-2)
When Jesus died, then rose again, His Spirit was poured forth to all.
Peter preached on the Day of Pentencost:
"But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice,
and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be
this known unto you, and hearken to my words: 15For these are not drunken, as
ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day. 16But this is that
which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
17And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I
will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters
shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall
dream dreams:" (Acts 2: 14-17)
And of course, Paul admonished the Corinthian church--and all believers--to see themselves in Christ, a new creation, the Temple of the Holy Spirit:
"Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ?" (1 Corinthians 6: 15)
and then
"What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy
Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20For ye
are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your
spirit, which are God's." (1 Corinthians 6: 19-20)
So, Body of Christ, praise God wherever you are!
