Jesus Was Bold - and He Makes us Bold, Too,

"But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?" (Jpoh 7: 26)

Jesus used great boldness of speech during His earthly ministry.

He was on one mission: the Cross:

"Because the Sovereign LORD helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore have I set my face like flint, and I know I will not be put to shame." (Isaiah 50: 7)

and

"Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem." (Luke 13: 33)

Notice how much Jesus loved us then, and loves us now!

"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." (Hebrews 12: 2)

Jesus endured intense privations for us before He was crucified:

"Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers28And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. 29And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! 30And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head. 31And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him." (Matthew 27:27-31)

Yet he scorned all of this shame and received greater glory, and in turn we receive His glory!

"But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6And hath raised usup together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:" (Ephesians 2: 4-6)

Jesus was bold, even in the face of privations, shame, and the worst possible death imaginable. Yet for all that, He was bold - and he in turn make us bold, too!

"Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." (Hebrews 4: 16)
