If You Have the Son, You Have Life

"He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life." (1 John 5: 12)

Man does not need steps on how to be good.

He does not need an example to follow.

He needs life, and that more abundantly.

And that is precisely what Jesus came to give us:

"In Him was life; and the life was the light of men." (John 1:4)

If we want light in our lives, we need Jesus, who is the light of the world:

"I am the light of the world; he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness but shall have the light of life."

We cannot have life in anyone or anything else: only in Christ.

"I have come that you might have life, and that more abundantly." (John 10: 10)

Above all:

"I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life." (John 14: 6)

Jesus did not come to make bad men good, but give life to men dead in their trespasses:

"And you hath he quickened who were dead in your trespasses. . . hath raised us up together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:" (Ephesians 2: 1, 6)

In Colossians, we also read:

"If you then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. . .For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God." (Colossians 3:1, 3)
